Will a Heated Steering Wheel Fit My Golf Cart? A Cart-by-Cart Guide

on Oct 04 2026

Cold mornings are the first thing that sends golf carts back into the garage. A heated steering wheel keeps your hands warm from the first ride of the day, and the patent-pending RENO Heated Steering Wheel Full Conversion Kit is built to fit most carts on the road. Here is how to pick the right kit and what the install takes.

The RENO design is patent pending. It's the full heated wheel, controls and wiring in one kit, built specifically for golf carts.

Step 1: Find your version

RENO makes the kit in two versions. The only difference is whether a hub adapter is in the box.

Your cart Version to order
Club Car Club Car (hub included)
EZGO EZGO (hub included)
Yamaha Yamaha (hub included)
Cushman Cushman (hub included)
Evolution, Denago, EPIC, ICON, DACH, AdvancedEV and other carts with a 6-hole wheel pattern Universal (no hub needed)

Not sure which you have? Count the bolt holes where your current wheel mounts. Six holes means Universal. If your cart is not listed, ask a RENO dealer before you order.

Step 2: Check your 12V power

The heated wheel runs on 12 volts. It wires to the 12V output of your cart's voltage converter, the same source that powers lights and USB ports on most carts. Most golf carts run on a 36V, 48V or 72V battery pack, so a cart without a 12V converter needs one first. RENO makes 48V and 72V to 12V converters; your RENO dealer can add one to the order.

Step 3: Plan about an hour

A typical install takes about an hour. You will:

  1. Remove your old steering wheel.
  2. Mount the hub adapter (hub versions only) and the heated wheel.
  3. Drill a 7/8" hole in the dash for the heat control knob.
  4. Mount the control unit and vibration sensor.
  5. Connect power to the 12V converter output (soldered or with the included butt connectors).
  6. Test the heat and tidy the wiring with the included zip ties.

Every kit comes with a printed guide and an install video.

What's in the box

Heated steering wheel, wheel cap and 6 cap screws, vibration sensor, control unit, control knob, coil spring cable and bracket, 2 bracket screws, 4 butt connectors and 10 zip ties. Hub versions add the hub adapter.

It turns itself off

A built-in vibration sensor shuts the heat off after 10 to 15 minutes without movement and turns it back on when the cart moves. Park the cart and forget it; the wheel won't drain your batteries. Turn the knob fully left for off. Every kit carries a 1-year warranty.
